• Sam Andrews Ph.D.

    Sam is the founder and C.E.O of Instream Consulting through which he applies over a decade of fisheries experience gathered through research, teaching, and broad involvement in fisheries science projects in the Maritime provinces. Sam has worked extensively with electronic tracking tags, fish passage assessment, fish surveys, bathymetric mapping, and rare and endangered species where he strives to identify and fill core data gaps. Through this work, Sam has collaborated with universities, governments, industry partners, First Nations, commercial fishers, students, and researchers to build inclusive teams that together produce meaningful project results.

  • Liz Bateman

    Liz is a fisheries researcher and scientific illustrator with expertise ranging broadly from Atlantic Halibut along the continental shelf to salt marsh assessments and stream fish community surveys. Liz has a love for the field and small-bodied fishes and she brings her keen attention to detail to all parts of her work. When not in the field, Liz works with fisheries managers and researchers to develop educational materials through scientific illustration.
